Why We Started Core Medical Center
In 1973, Dr. Patrick Goldsworthy D.C founded the very successful Blue Springs Chiropractic Health Center. Though he and Dr. Aston Goldsworthy D.C, MSN, FNP-BC practiced side-by-side for years in this thriving center, both doctors began to notice that many of their patients would return months or years later with the same exact problem. Although patients significantly improved and most were even symptom free for long stretches, the root cause of their discomfort was not permanently corrected. Both doctors envisioned a multi-disciplinary medical practice where they could identify the cause of the problem and treat it instead of just treating pain (symptoms) without addressing the underlying source of the injury.
To make this vision a reality, Dr. Aston Goldsworthy D.C., MSN, FNP-BC returned to nursing school and completed a Bachelors in Nursing Science and Masters level Family Nurse Practitioner program which allowed him to become board certified. This added degree coupled with the collaboration of a medical doctor and a Rehab team gave rise to Core Medical Center.
Now, Core Medical Center provides comprehensive care for neurological, skeletal and soft tissue injuries. Since the medical team resides under one roof, Core Medical Center can effectively communicate and provide specialized care for patients on a level unmatched by any other therapeutic model.
We use a combination of the best of medicine and physical medicine to achieve amazing results and eliminate the risk of side effects that can often come with surgical approaches and prescriptive pain medication.

Having practiced for over 40 years Dr. Patrick Goldsworthy has always lived by the principal of treating his patients like family and putting their needs ahead of his own. He looks to practice for many years to come, having started Core Medical Center with his son Dr. Aston Goldsworthy.
Dr Aston Goldsworthy D.C., MSN, FNP-BC, began his career as an associate in his father’s clinic in 2009. He introduced a new spark into an already thriving practice that ignited immense growth in the clinic. Dr. Aston Goldsworthy had a vision to expand the level of care and the procedures that the clinic could provide to its patients. He did not want there to be any limitations on the treatment he could provide to his patients. So, for the next 4 years he returned to school while working full time as a chiropractor to complete two more degrees. Once he had completed his training as a nurse practitioner he was able to come up with the practice concept that would become Core Medical center. With the help of his father they we able to recreate their practice into a multidisciplinary clinic with a treatment method and philosophy unlike any practice of its kind. Dr. Aston Goldsworthy travels monthly all over the country to train on the newest and latest procedures in physical rehabilitation, interventional orthopedics and aesthetics. He has a thirst for knowledge and a passion for patient care. Dr. Aston Goldsworthy currently lives in Lee’s Summit with his wife Tessa, their daughter Scarlett and their two dogs Reagan and Kennedy.

Born & raised in Chicago, but matured in the family farm fields of Wisconsin. The values & people of the Great Lakes & Heartland are what know & love best.
Working as a veterinary technician provided the “healthcare spark.” A BS in Psychology & Nursing from Loyola University in Chicago & Masters in Human Resources from DeVry provided a solid foundation & the skills to succeed at both hands on patient care & administrative positions in ICU, cardiac cath lab, OR, & ED.
Kansas City brought opportunities & additional education in Massage Therapy, followed by a Masters in Family Nursing, with Board Certification as an APRN.
My wonderful husband of nearly 3 decades & children, one a Navy Submariner, the other a soon to be college graduate, have been my support & my joy. They & my hobbies training field dogs, hunting, & quilting, keep me grounded & balanced.
I’m drawn to seeking ways to relieve chronic pain & adjustment issues. Often “out of the box” thinking utilizing elements of both traditional & complementary approaches are needed to provide body & mind retraining.
I am excited to be an integral part of the CORE MEDICAL CENTER team in helping each patient achieve improved wellness.
